About the Role

You will be responsible for delivering planning solutions, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

What You Bring

We are seeking enthusiastic, can‑do team players, preferably with private‑sector consultancy experience and some local‑authority exposure, who can deliver high‑standard work, communicate effectively and share knowledge while contributing to the team’s success. The role is Principal Planner, requiring strong knowledge of the planning process—including applications, permitted development, policy frameworks, plan promotion and appeals. You will use critical thinking to produce appraisals, strategies and all planning documentation, and negotiate with authorities and stakeholders. Principal Planners must be confident to run projects independently and also collaborate on large‑scale, multidisciplinary teams, ideally with a background in private‑sector consultancy. We expect you to hold a town‑planning degree (postgraduate qualification desirable), achieve chartered status (MRTPI or NIPA), possess deep knowledge of the UK planning system from the private sector, and demonstrate excellent technical, commercial, organisational and communication skills.
