About the Role
This position performs electrical engineering work related to integrating power generation equipment into direct‑account customer projects within the Project Systems Engineering team. It involves extensive client interaction, coordination with R&D and custom engineering teams in Friedrichshafen and Mankato, and ongoing support of the Project Systems Execution team. You will manage project design and development for new or existing products, serving as the technical authority for a key direct account and the primary engineering point of contact for RRSA design activities. Guidance will be provided on generator set control systems, wiring harnesses, electrical diagrams, electronic engine systems, automatic voltage regulators, transformers, heaters, distribution panels, motor controls, protective relays, and LV & MV paralleling switchgear. Verification of manufacturer drawings for compliance, research of engineering standards, and preparation of equipment specifications are also core duties. • Manage project design and development for new or existing products as the technical authority for a key direct account. • Provide guidance on generator set control systems, wiring harnesses, electrical diagrams, and related electrical components. • Verify manufacturer drawings for compliance with design specifications and engineering standards. • Research and analyze requirements from engineering standards, contracts, and proposal documents. • Prepare equipment specifications and select design concepts for new or improved products. • Review customer specifications versus MTU designs to identify compliance, deviations, or exemptions. • Follow ERP procedures and promote compliance with the Rolls‑Royce Code of Conduct.

What You Bring
All engineering calculations and drawings must adhere to applicable electrical codes, contract requirements, and MTU symbology conventions. You will review customer specifications against MTU designs to classify compliance, deviation, or exemption, and follow ERP procedures in line with the company’s quality system. Promoting a culture of compliance and upholding the Rolls‑Royce Code of Conduct are essential, along with participation in special projects as needed. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with at least five years of relevant experience (or nine years without a degree), and be willing to travel up to 30% for business trips. Preferred qualifications include deep knowledge of diesel and gas reciprocating engines, AC power systems, strong organizational and communication skills, leadership, and the ability to interpret complex electrical diagrams. Proficiency with AutoCAD, PLC programming, MS Office, SAP/Windchill, and an OSHA30 certificate are advantageous. • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; hold a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years experience (or 9+ years without degree). • Willingness to travel up to 30% for business trips. • Deep knowledge of diesel and gas reciprocating engines and AC power systems. • Excellent organization, planning, communication, leadership, and negotiation skills. • Ability to read and interpret line, ladder, and point‑to‑point diagrams. • Proficient in AutoCAD LT, AutoCAD Electrical, PLC programming, MS Office; experience with SAP/Windchill. • OSHA30 certification.

The role offers a salary range of $90,985 to $147,850 annually, supplemented by a discretionary bonus plan.
