About the Role
Under general direction, this position manages a truck‑based service business, driving growth in labor and material revenue, gross margin, and service asset management. The role deploys and maintains standardized tools, systems, and support for the Service Team while managing resources to maximize customer satisfaction, productivity, and profitability. Effective recruitment, development, and retention of employees, along with overall operational excellence and service growth, are also key responsibilities. The manager sets and monitors goals for team growth and profitability, leading the Service Team to ensure productivity, consistency, and quality. Responsibilities include addressing warranty issues, managing customer relationships, assisting with monthly forecasting and overhead account management, and maintaining optimal staffing levels through labor forecasting and planning. The role also recruits, hires, and retains staff, works with Technical Leads on performance plans, conducts quarterly one‑on‑one meetings and annual reviews, and approves timesheets while ensuring pre‑job checklists, daily debriefings, and monthly Near Misses are completed. Additional duties involve managing bookings, accounts payable and receivable, taking responsibility for safety performance and program compliance, and supporting the Service Team in identifying and pursuing change‑order opportunities. What You Bring
As a leader, effective verbal and written communication with internal and external customers is essential. The candidate must independently own issues and resolutions, handle multiple tasks with tact and persistence, and prioritize customer satisfaction. Required qualifications include a college degree or equivalent and at least 10 years of HVAC experience. Preferred qualifications are a bachelor’s in a technical field, five years of supervisory experience, 1‑2 years of site coordination/project management, and five years of field HVAC or building controls experience, plus proficiency with service management software, financial accounting systems, and Microsoft Office. • Minimum 10 years HVAC experience; bachelor’s preferred; 5 years supervisory and site coordination experience • Proficiency with service management software, financial accounting systems, and Microsoft Office • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
