Job Highlights
About the Role
Based in Bristol, the Quantity Surveyor will support senior members of the commercial team on Rolls‑Royce projects, taking charge of procurement and supply‑chain management. The role aims to minimise project costs and deliver value for money while meeting the client’s standards and quality expectations. • Measure, record and value work unsupervised according to rules and procedures. • Collaborate with PM and single‑source contractor on value‑engineering reductions. • Interpret specifications and drawings. • Build estimates from first principles, including net and gross estimates. • Translate measurements into Bills of Quantities or schedules of rates. • Provide input and commercial adjudication for potential tenders (Go/No‑go). • Review weekly and monthly programmes of works. • Plan commercial activities to meet programme requirements. • Prepare, submit and negotiate claims, including monthly valuations and final accounts. • Collate cost and value information for monthly reviews. • Manage NEC3/4 contracts, issue and track Early Warning Notices, risk registers and compensation events. • Monitor subcontractor activities and issue appropriate notices. • Prepare cost reconciliation statements. • Identify savings and value‑engineering opportunities; collect procurement information. • Record and document information, including registration of interest. • Manage customer and stakeholder relationships for assigned area. • Vet contractual terms and conditions per JLL house rules. • Oversee cash management processes such as debt recovery, retentions and cash flow. • Measure works and agreements with subcontractors; place sub‑contract orders, value applications, measure variations and agree final accounts. • Maintain a Personal Development Plan.

What You Bring
• Understand delay and disruption programmes; use Evolution MX System. • Understand documentation steps required. • BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience. • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction/building services (essential). • Experience working in occupied buildings or campuses (essential). • Experience with NEC3 contracts (highly desirable). • Proficient in IT software, including MS Office. • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills (essential). • Strong organisational and time‑management abilities to meet deadlines (essential). • Self‑motivated with proactive approach, initiative and problem‑solving skills (essential). • Commitment to high‑quality service, reliability, conscientiousness and flexibility (essential).
