About the Role
The Senior Structural Engineer will manage the structural team’s engineering and drafting tasks, provide design direction, act as the primary liaison between internal disciplines and external partners, and oversee construction administration activities such as shop drawing reviews, RFIs, site visits, and OAC meetings. Core responsibilities include participating in coordination and design review meetings, authoring specifications and calculations, managing project documentation to meet schedule and budget, and communicating design intent through reports, memos, and correspondence while conducting site observations. • Lead and coordinate multi‑disciplinary project teams throughout design and construction phases. • Develop and maintain structural specifications, calculations, and design documentation. • Review and manage shop drawings, RFIs, change proposals, and incorporate revisions into project files. • Conduct site visits, observations, and produce detailed field reports. • Communicate design intent and project updates through written reports, memos, and email correspondence. • Ensure compliance with state building codes and industry standards (ASCE, AISC, ACI, MSJC, NDS, etc.). • Utilize structural analysis tools such as ETABS, SAFE, RISA, RAM, and ENERCALC for design optimization. • Provide mentorship and guidance to engineering and drafting staff. • Participate in client and owner meetings to define scope and present design methodology. • Support business growth through entrepreneurial problem‑solving and client‑focused service.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s (Master’s preferred) in civil engineering with a structural focus, possesses a state SE license, has at least 10 years of progressive structural experience and three years leading multi‑disciplinary teams, and is proficient in codes (ASCE, AISC, ACI, etc.) and software such as ETABS, SAFE, RISA, RAM, Excel, and Bluebeam.
