About the Role
The Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station in Cordova, IL is hiring a Simulator Software Engineer or Senior Simulator Software Engineer to develop and maintain simulation software for the Main Control Room Simulator. The role involves creating and updating software logic and dynamic models, providing second‑tier support, and collaborating with the Training Department, project managers, and Clean Energy Center engineers. • Design, develop, and modify simulation software logic and dynamic models for the Main Control Room Simulator. • Perform software configuration management and maintain simulator software. • Participate in CEC simulator project planning, design, build, and management activities. • Provide second‑tier support for other simulators and backup the CEC Simulator Software Engineer as needed. • Engage with business partners to gather requirements and deliver cost‑effective solutions. • Review peer code, enforce standard development methodologies, and contribute to a cross‑functional team.

What You Bring
Both positions require meeting nuclear facility access and medical examination standards, and they are coded as XSSD for the Simulator Software Engineer and XSSE for the Senior role. • Minimum qualification: Bachelor’s in engineering (chemical, civil/structural, electrical, industrial, mechanical, or nuclear) plus 2 years (engineer) or 5 years (senior) of programming experience; or Associate’s degree with 4 years (engineer) or 7 years (senior) experience. • Must meet minimum access requirements and pass a favorable medical examination for nuclear facility duties. • Preferred qualification: Bachelor’s in mechanical or nuclear engineering with 3‑5 + years of experience; proficient in FORTRAN and C; experience with Visual Studio, GIT, Windows OS, graphic design software, engineering print reading, network topology, and software interface protocols. • Demonstrated teamwork, self‑motivation, and excellent written and verbal communication skills for conveying complex findings to non‑technical stakeholders. • Strong understanding of advanced programming concepts, data structures, and algorithms.
