About the Role

In this position you will act as the subject‑matter expert for field repairs and testing, create and review test trip packs, validate data, and compile detailed reports. You will provide 24/7 technical support to field crews nationwide, mentor junior staff, conduct life‑cycle and thermal assessments, and lead root‑cause analyses and repair scope development. Additionally, you will prepare customer training sessions and ensure all work complies with relevant regulations and internal guidelines. • Provide expert solutions to technical inquiries from operations and quotation teams. • Serve as subject‑matter expert for field repair and testing. • Create, review, and validate test trip packs and compile reports. • Offer 24/7 technical support to field crews across all US time zones. • Mentor and guide less experienced colleagues. • Conduct life and condition assessments, thermal studies, and internal inspections. • Participate in root‑cause analysis studies and develop repair scope procedures. • Prepare and deliver customer training sessions. • Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

What You Bring

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least five years of relevant experience, or an equivalent mix of education and transformer‑related work. Required expertise includes electrical design and execution for transformers, familiarity with IEEE, IEC, and NEMA standards, and hands‑on experience repairing medium to large oil‑filled transformers from multiple OEMs. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and AutoCAD, strong initiative, creativity, attention to detail, and effective communication are also essential, and you must have US work authorization. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent education and transformer experience. • Experience in electrical design and execution with transformers. • Knowledge of IEEE, IEC, and NEMA industry standards. • Experience repairing medium and large oil‑filled transformers from multiple OEMs. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and AutoCAD. • Demonstrated initiative, creativity, attention to detail, and strong communication skills. • Must have work authorization to be employed by Hitachi Energy in the United States.
