About the Role

The Senior Structural Engineer will lead and support medium‑to‑large projects from concept through handover, ensuring quality, time and budget targets are met. The successful candidate will have a structural engineering degree, be self‑motivated, and ideally be chartered or progressing towards chartered status. The position provides exposure to a diverse range of projects and the opportunity to grow within AECOM’s global team. • Prepare specifications, schedules, drawings and contract documents through RIBA/project stages. • Manage structural design delivery from concept to completion, organizing a project team. • Represent AECOM at project and client meetings. • Produce planning, design and feasibility reports. • Ensure project work complies with the Project Management Plan and programme. • Lead by example with work‑winning, value engineering and modern computational methods. • Provide high‑level value‑engineering technical expertise for building design projects. • Identify, assess and address quality, environmental and sustainability aspects throughout delivery. • Collaborate across disciplines as a proactive team player. • Communicate effectively with stakeholders. • Develop detailed design drawings, calculations, specifications and technical reports. • Apply structural engineering experience across sectors such as defence, justice, education, commercial and healthcare. • Deliver concepts through to completion while liaising directly with clients. • Produce sustainable design solutions. • Apply governing structural design standards (Eurocodes, BS, Building Regulations). • Leverage industry‑leading technology and work on transformational projects. • Apply through the Disability Confident interview scheme if you have a disability or long‑term condition.

What You Bring

• Demonstrate passion for helping clients solve engineering challenges. • Obtain or be eligible for active UK Security Clearance and preferably hold single UK nationality. • Hold a relevant structural engineering degree with experience supporting chartered progression. • Achieve chartered status or possess qualifications to become chartered. • Possess justice sector experience (beneficial but not essential).
