About the Role

As an Assistant Diesel Mechanic you will service trucks and equipment that support over 20 million customers nationwide, using modern tools and procedures to maintain both diesel and, at some locations, CNG fleets. Your work ensures that vehicles leave the shop safely and reliably for the local community. • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on diesel equipment • Estimate time and material costs for repairs and new parts • Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs) • Respond to emergency breakdown service calls • Conduct safety checks on vehicles • Complete paperwork documenting parts usage and repair times • Assist senior mechanics with project work • Review and address items from Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports • Maintain a clean, safe work area compliant with OSHA standards
