What You Bring
We are hiring a Construction Summer Intern for the Transportation Department in Grand Rapids, Michigan, beginning May 2026. The role provides entry‑level experience, applying standard techniques and following senior staff guidance while meeting schedule and quality expectations. Candidates must be pursuing or have recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, be U.S. citizens, hold a valid driver’s license, and be able to pass a motor‑vehicle records review. Preferred qualifications include proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic knowledge of CADD, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, or similar software. • Pursue (or have completed) a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; recent graduates planning a Master’s are eligible. • Must be a U.S. citizen and hold a valid driver’s license; pass a motor‑vehicle records review. • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Basic knowledge of industry software such as CADD, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, or HCS.
