About the Role

The Drafter III role focuses on computer‑aided design using Microstation (ICGS/IDDS) to produce drawings and schematics from specifications, layouts, blueprints, red lines, and sketches. Responsibilities include creating utility pole work prints, digitizing field notes, ensuring designs meet client and regulatory requirements, and preparing field documents that adhere to industry standards. • Create utility pole placement and removal work prints. • Prepare drawings and designs per client engineering specifications using Microstation (ICGS/IDDS). • Digitize field notes into the ICGS/IDDS system. • Apply construction and safety standards in line with local, state, and federal regulations. • Produce field documents that meet industry standards. • Communicate project details with internal staff and clients via phone and email. • Manage multiple workflow timelines and production schedules. • Perform quality checks on plan design drawings. • Interpret telecom project data for outdoor equipment, building layouts, and fiber diagrams. • Set up and maintain CAD drafting and plan preparation standards. • Analyze technical reports and instructions to inform design decisions. • Solve design problems creatively under changing conditions.

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least a high school diploma or GED, a minimum of two years’ experience with ICGS/IDDS, and preferably a 2‑year technical or associate degree in CADD. Proficiency with Excel, Word, AutoCAD, and O‑Calc, along with strong verbal and written communication, time‑management, and organizational skills, is required. • Work independently or as part of a team with strong communication and organizational skills.
