About the Role

Day‑to‑day responsibilities include technical design and documentation with AutoCAD, preparing both conceptual and detailed design sets, reviewing and validating drawings with a high focus on quality, interpreting civil design requirements from government and private clients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, adhering to professional standards and ethics, and attending site inspections as needed. • Prepare conceptual and detailed design documentation sets for land subdivisions, road infrastructure, drainage, culverts, sewer and water systems • Complete, review and validate design drawings and documentation with high quality focus • Interpret civil design requirements of government authorities and private clients, including standards and codes • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers and BIM modelers; interface with transport, planning, survey, traffic, electrical and landscaping disciplines • Adhere to professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality procedures • Attend site inspections and field work as opportunities arise

What You Bring

We have an opportunity for a Civil Drafter to join our established and growing Buildings Civil team in our South Brisbane office. The role involves civil drafting and documentation using AutoCAD across a range of projects and sectors, from early concept design and master planning to detailed design and construction documentation. As a career progression, there is an opportunity to advance into a Civil Designer role using 12D or Civil 3D software. Successful candidates will have experience in Civil AutoCAD drafting, a desire to progress toward a Civil Designer role, base‑level knowledge of bulk earthworks, roadworks, stormwater, sewer and water network design to Australian and South East QLD standards, and a strong client focus with the ability to work well in a team. Applicants must be Australian Permanent Residents or Citizens due to project requirements. • Technical design and documentation utilizing AutoCAD • Experience in Civil AutoCAD drafting • Base level knowledge of bulk earthworks, roadworks, stormwater, sewer and water network design per Australian and South East QLD standards • Understanding of and willingness to learn Authority application processes • Strong client focus, high motivation, dedication and ability to work well in a team • Eligibility to work in Australia (Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen) • Professional Memberships
