About the Role
You will review contractor material submittals, obtain approvals, serve as the focal point for scheduling and control of construction materials, conduct inspections, coordinate sub‑consultants for testing, maintain project files and daily diaries, and prepare daily reports. You will verify approved materials, identify potential conflicts, collect certificates of compliance and MSDS, provide technical guidance, and support safety and quality control practices, including engineering calculations and material storage verification. • Review contractor material submittals and secure approvals per standards and specifications. • Schedule and control construction materials and equipment on site. • Conduct inspections to confirm work aligns with contract specifications. • Coordinate sub‑consultants for material testing activities. • Maintain project files, material inspection records, and daily diaries. • Prepare daily reports and required contract documentation. • Verify that only approved materials are used in construction. • Identify potential material conflicts, report them, and propose solutions. • Collect and file Certificates of Compliance, MSDS, inspection tags, and related documents. • Provide technical guidance to junior staff as needed. • Contribute to job safety practices and safety report preparation. • Assist in developing quality control reports and procedures. • Perform engineering calculations, create graphs, and charts for material data. • Observe and record work execution to ensure compliance with approved methods. • Check that delivered materials match approvals and are stored properly.

What You Bring
Parsons is seeking a talented Material Engineer to join our team. In this role you will monitor, inspect, coordinate, witness, and document all project materials to ensure construction conforms to contract requirements and specifications. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related construction field (or equivalent experience) and at least seven years of QA/QC experience in infrastructure, roads, or landscaping are required. Experience with domestic or international projects, especially in Abu Dhabi, the ability to read and interpret plans, strong written and oral English communication, and registration as a practicing Engineer in Abu Dhabi (or an equivalency certificate) are also essential.
