About the Role
The specialist will handle equipment orders, rentals, billing, inventory management, reporting, and coordination of meetings, while supporting safety, LEAN/5S initiatives, and DOT compliance. They will work closely with diverse teams and external partners to deliver equipment solutions. • Follow procedures for receiving and processing equipment orders and returns. • Source equipment internally and from third‑party rental/service suppliers. • Generate purchase orders for equipment purchases and rentals. • Reconcile and process billing of contracts, invoices, and work orders daily. • Support electronic and physical inventory management on sites and facilities. • Update task codes and off‑rent dates with project team input. • Produce scheduled and on‑demand inventory management reports, ensuring quality control. • Interpret on‑rent and forecast reports. • Schedule and lead pre‑mobilization meetings with site leadership. • Lead monthly equipment review meetings with project and accounting teams. • Support LEAN/5S initiatives and collaborate with EF craft teams on equipment plans. • Facilitate forecast review meetings with project teams and trade partners. • Reconcile fleet invoicing with accounting, vendors, and project teams. • Provide equipment solutions and issue resolution, recommending equipment type and maintenance. • Coordinate ordering of vehicles for team members and projects. • Manage DOT registration and respond to DOT and driver inquiries. • Participate in equipment facility safety program and uphold Mortenson’s Zero Injury policy. • Dispatch and schedule equipment deliveries, including logistics planning. • Build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.

What You Bring
Mortenson is seeking an Equipment Specialist – Energy Storage (Traveler) to support day‑to‑day operations, build customer relationships, and manage processes for project teams, equipment facilities, buyers, and HQ leadership. The role is based in Monroe, LA with required rotational travel. The position requires at least an associate degree with 1‑2 years of relevant experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong attention to detail, customer service skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple needs. Travel is 100 % and a bachelor’s degree and billing software experience are preferred. • Associate degree plus 1+ year rental equipment/construction experience (or 2+ years relevant experience); bachelor’s degree preferred. • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. • Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service skills. • Ability to assess and prioritize multiple customer needs. • Working knowledge of purchasing/rental processes and procedures. • Strong organization, planning, and influencing skills. • Active listening and effective communication; open to diverse input. • 100 % travel required. • Experience with billing software preferred.
