About the Role

The Driver/Operator role at Waste Management involves safely operating a heavy‑duty truck on designated transfer routes. The driver must comply with OSHA, DOT, and all local, state, and federal regulations while keeping the vehicle clean and safe. Key responsibilities include performing pre‑ and post‑trip inspections using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report, reporting any vehicle issues, and immediately notifying the Operations Manager or Dispatch of unsafe situations or service calls. The driver participates in scheduled training, briefings, and meetings, collaborates with Operations Managers to improve route efficiency, and assists other company drivers as needed. Drivers are required to communicate customer requests or issues, dump containers and leave sites free of debris, correctly position containers on customer property, and complete all necessary documentation and customer tickets at the end of each route. • Operate CDL‑B truck safely per OSHA, DOT, and company standards. • Complete pre‑ and post‑trip DVIR inspections and report any issues. • Notify Operations or Dispatch of unsafe conditions, incidents, or service calls immediately. • Participate in required training, briefings, and meetings. • Collaborate with Operations to improve route efficiency and address problems. • Assist fellow drivers and follow scheduled duties and route assignments. • Communicate customer requests and issues to Dispatch/Operations. • Dump containers, clean work sites, and position containers properly. • Submit customer tickets for excess yardage and finalize route documentation.

What You Bring

The position requires a valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class B) and a minimum age of 18, along with successful completion of a DOT drug screen, physical exam, background check, and an acceptable driving record. No formal education or prior experience is required. • Hold a valid CDL‑B (age 18+), pass DOT drug screen, physical, background check, and maintain an acceptable driving record.
