About the Role
The Superintendent I will lead daily field operations, coordinating crews, subcontractors, and internal teams to meet production, safety, and quality standards. This role ensures compliance with GDOT contract requirements, federal labor regulations, and project‑specific specifications while managing schedule risks and workforce performance. • Supervise daily project activities and act as liaison among engineering, estimating, field operations, and subcontractors. • Plan and sequence work methods, equipment, materials, and labor to achieve production and safety goals. • Conduct daily/weekly planning meetings, document progress, and maintain field reporting. • Review drawings, specifications, and phasing plans; enforce site‑specific safety plans. • Coordinate equipment, vendors, and subcontractors to meet production and budget targets. • Anticipate schedule risks and provide technical recommendations for alternative methods. • Ensure compliance with federal wage rules, certified payrolls, and subcontractor monitoring. • Enforce SR400 Constructors’ Safety Program, GDOT requirements, and quality control plans. • Supervise, evaluate, and coach craft employees and subcontractor crews. • Manage inspections, punch lists, and project closeout activities with GDOT and project management.

What You Bring
• Minimum 5 years heavy civil construction experience, preferably DOT highway/bridge work. • At least 3 years in construction management or supervisory role on large‑scale DOT or federally funded projects. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred). • Valid driver’s license; OSHA 30‑Hour or GDOT safety certification (or ability to obtain); Safety Trained Supervisor certification preferred. • Familiarity with Davis‑Bacon, EO 13706, and other federal contractor compliance requirements. • Strong leadership and communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. • Advanced knowledge of DOT construction practices, equipment operation, and site safety protocols. • Proficiency in reading plans, specifications, and schedules. • Ability to identify risks, resolve field issues, and make decisions under pressure.
