About the Role

• Organize, plan, and schedule estimate preparation. • Facilitate kickoff, status update, plan flip, and final review meetings. • Assign and adjust work to ensure complete, reliable estimates. • Incorporate contract documents, design team communication, tax laws, and permits. • Determine trade partner strategy and issue bid/budget invitations. • Obtain and review all relevant documents, including BIM models. • Promote collaboration to align scope and budget. • Ensure implementation of changes identified in estimate reviews. • Conduct quantity surveys of materials and resources. • Apply project knowledge and best practices to fill gaps in early design documents. • Lead multiple projects simultaneously. • Lead estimator teams on larger projects. • Use cost history software for unit‑price and system‑level pricing. • Complete self‑performed estimates, including general conditions, using past project data. • Provide medical, prescription drug, and vision coverage at no additional cost. • Offer adoption assistance.

What You Bring

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Estimator with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever‑changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The Estimator will provide leadership, coordination, and final preparation of full estimates on large and complex work projects. Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position. Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; we cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time. • Hold an associate or bachelor’s degree in Estimating, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. • Possess at least six years of construction industry experience. • Demonstrate ability to organize and manage multiple project tasks. • Be familiar with building and estimating techniques and software. • Proficient in using BIM, plans, and project documents to quantify work. • Build industry relationships and broaden knowledge of building systems. • Travel up to 20% as required.

Benefits

The base pay range for this role is $109,300 – $164,000, with higher ranges for certain locations such as Denver, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, and Washington, D.C.
