About the Role
The role involves leading transmission line design, engineering, technical support, and oversight for a transmission engineering team, ensuring safe, cost‑effective, and high‑quality services. Responsibilities include addressing complex engineering problems, supporting renewable energy interconnections, managing project schedules and budgets, and assisting with proposal development and cost estimating. Work is classified as complex, requiring major decision‑making where established procedures may not exist. The position influences moderate‑level decisions, requires tactful interaction with stakeholders, and oversees the project team in preparing design drawings, though it has no direct reports. • Provide engineering and technical expertise to identify, analyze, and resolve problems. • Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor work activities effectively. • Prepare thorough, timely, and accurate technical reports, documentation, calculations, and sketches. • Continuously improve engineering knowledge, technical skills, and professional performance. • Understand and create transmission line drawing packages. • Support company goals and represent the organization positively and professionally. • Interact daily with customers' internal engineers and technical personnel. • Develop and maintain professional relationships with customers. • Monitor deliverables and schedules, presenting solutions to clients.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in an ABET‑accredited engineering program and have 8‑10 years of electrical industry experience in power delivery. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is required, and regular attendance is expected. The job demands strong language abilities to read technical documents, write correspondence, and respond to inquiries, as well as solid mathematical skills for calculations, spreadsheet work, and financial estimations. Reasoning skills include interpreting technical instructions and solving practical problems with limited standardization. Desired qualifications include a BS in civil/structural or electrical engineering, 8+ years of high‑voltage transmission line design experience (≥69 kV), knowledge of relevant codes (NESC, ASCE, IEC, etc.), proficiency with MS Office, and experience with PLSCADD line and structure design. The candidate should also be capable of mentoring junior staff, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, visiting sites to resolve engineering issues, and supporting permitting activities. Physical demands involve mostly sitting, talking, and occasional standing or walking, with occasional handling of tools and lifting up to 25 lb. The work environment is typical of an office with moderate noise levels, occasional exposure to outdoor weather, and occasional risk of electrical shock. • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
