About the Role
The Senior Commercial Manager – MEP will sit in Mace’s in‑house Mechanical & Electrical Sub‑contractor, Mace MEP, acting as the commercial lead for a multi‑million‑pound project in Central London. The role is accountable for cost management of complex work packages, risk and opportunity handling, profit delivery, and supporting senior commercial team members with monthly commercial procedures such as the Cost Value Report. • Safety first – ensure everyone goes home safe and well • Lead a team of managers and professionals to deliver area plans and excellence • Address subcontractor contractual claims and changes • Produce monthly client applications • Approve invoices and issue interim payment certificates (IPCs) • Draft technical and contractual correspondence • Commercially manage design consultants and specialist fees • Ensure site team adheres to commercial and legal procedures and agreements • Communicate effectively with clients and subcontractors • Collaborate on net‑zero carbon transition and manage associated emissions • Chair monthly project cost report and risk meetings • Identify and pursue opportunities to sell Mace services and win work • Apply contract law knowledge to mitigate risk and manage key clauses • Adopt a strategic approach to project management
