About the Role
The Regional Business Class Leader (BCL) for Pump Stations and Pipelines in the Northeast Region will lead the growth, direction, and quality of the Business Class, partnering with top water professionals and overseeing some of the largest infrastructure projects in the region. The BCL is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing large‑scale, multi‑disciplinary pump station and pipeline projects, building client relationships, participating in project development and contract preparation, and staffing across various engineering disciplines. The role involves oversight of planning, design, inspection, and construction management for major water, wastewater, stormwater, and reclaimed‑water infrastructure, and coordination with HDR’s regional and national technical leads. As a Business Class Leader, the incumbent contributes to the technical advancement and corporate management of HDR’s national pump station and pipeline program, participating in the company’s robust work‑share network across operational areas. Key responsibilities include developing technical leadership and best practices by integrating national expertise and industry standards, contributing to the knowledge base, supporting training, and ensuring quality control. The BCL promotes program growth by setting Business Class goals, identifying new client and project opportunities, raising HDR’s technical visibility through conferences and workshops, and collaborating with market‑sector leaders, marketing, and operations teams on regional business strategies. What You Bring
Preferred qualifications include at least 20 years of experience leading pump‑station and pipeline projects, proven full‑cycle project delivery, strong leadership and communication skills, ability to meet tight deadlines, deep knowledge of industry standards, and expertise in training, staffing, marketing, and budgeting. Required qualifications are a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, professional registration, a minimum of 10 years of experience, commitment to HDR values, experience managing diverse teams, and active participation in the employee‑owned culture. • Minimum 20 years’ experience in pump stations and pipelines with proven project delivery leadership. • Strong leadership, communication, and team motivation skills; ability to meet tight deadlines. • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with professional registration. • 10+ years of experience, commitment to HDR values, and experience managing diverse teams. • Ability to develop training programs, marketing plans, and manage business group budgets.
