About the Role
The Maintenance Technician will support the day‑to‑day operation of a prominent Southbank event and entertainment precinct, reporting to the Facilities leadership team. Working closely with BGIS colleagues and on‑site stakeholders, the technician will deliver responsive, high‑quality maintenance services for a 24/7 venue. The role balances hands‑on maintenance tasks with clear communication to ensure a safe, welcoming, and well‑presented environment. • Perform planned and reactive general maintenance across the site • Carry out handyperson tasks such as patching, painting, minor carpentry, door and lock repairs, and lamp changes • Conduct plant inspections and routine site checks • Respond to maintenance requests and log work in digital systems • Support and supervise subcontractors as needed • Maintain safety, compliance, and presentation standards • Collaborate with the BGIS team across rotating shifts

What You Bring
The ideal candidate enjoys practical, varied work and takes pride in keeping spaces safe and functional. Experience in commercial maintenance, handyperson, or trades assistant roles, strong building knowledge, and clear communication are essential. A valid Australian driver’s licence is required; trade qualifications, a White Card, and experience in hotels, hospitals or office buildings are desirable.

The position is full‑time, permanent and on‑site, with a rotating roster of four 10‑hour shifts per week (7 am–5 pm, 9 am–7 pm, or 1 pm–11 pm) and optional overtime.
