About the Role
In this position the incumbent will develop and maintain detailed cost plans, produce monthly cost reports and executive summaries, and coordinate cost information from design teams, contractors and vendors for validation. They will lead procurement strategies, manage change control, support cost‑risk analysis, implement Earned Value Management where required, and integrate cost data with schedule and scope alongside project‑controls teams. Additional duties include driving value‑engineering initiatives, monitoring market trends, mentoring junior staff and ensuring compliance with internal business management systems and SOX controls. • Develop and maintain detailed cost plans and estimates throughout design and delivery phases. • Produce monthly cost reports, executive summaries and funding data for stakeholders. • Coordinate cost information from design teams, contractors, subcontractors and vendors for validation and auditing. • Lead procurement strategy, pricing reviews, scope validation and commercial negotiations to secure fair contract prices. • Manage final accounts and ensure timely agreement of contract sums. • Own change control: review, estimate, negotiate and reconcile change orders and post‑contract cost variances. • Support cost‑risk analysis, scenario planning, contingency management and commitment tracking. • Implement and maintain cost‑control systems, including Earned Value Management where applicable. • Integrate cost data with schedule and scope, working closely with project‑controls and scheduling teams. • Drive value‑engineering initiatives and cost‑optimization strategies based on engineering priorities. • Monitor market trends such as escalation, labour availability and material pricing, providing timely insights. • Serve as primary client interface, delivering executive‑level updates and ensuring service excellence. • Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering a high‑performance, one‑business culture. • Oversee financial management including margin tracking and monthly fee/resource forecasts. • Ensure adherence to internal Business Management Systems, company delivery methodologies and applicable SOX controls.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or a related discipline and possess five to seven-plus years of cost‑management or project‑controls experience in mission‑critical environments such as data centres. A strong understanding of MEP systems, budgeting, financial reporting, procurement and commercial contract management is required, with RICS accreditation regarded as advantageous. Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder‑management, analytical and problem‑solving skills, together with proficiency in industry‑standard cost‑management tools, are essential.
