About the Role
Key duties include ensuring compliance with income limits and maximum allowable rents set by funding sources and regulatory agreements, reviewing and approving annual income recertifications for programs such as HUD, HOME, LIHTC, and HCD, and approving all new move‑in files. The specialist establishes an audit calendar to meet annual recertification deadlines, implements a weekly file‑audit schedule with detailed follow‑up reports, and provides weekly updates on completed and outstanding recertifications. Additional responsibilities involve assisting the Compliance Manager with quarterly reports for tax‑exempt bond‑financed properties, updating compliance policies and procedures, performing Yardi system updates, and supporting leasing activities such as open houses and audit preparation. • Ensure compliance with income limits, rent caps, and HUD/HOME/LIHTC/HCD regulations. • Review and approve annual income recertifications and new move‑in files. • Establish and manage audit calendars and weekly file‑audit schedules. • Provide weekly updates on recertification status and assist with quarterly reports. • Update compliance policies, procedures, and Yardi system data. • Support leasing activities, open houses, and audit preparation. • Organize applicant files and participate in marketing list efforts. • Maintain knowledge of Fair Housing laws and California statutes.

What You Bring
The role also requires organizing applicant files to ensure timely completion of necessary documentation, participating in the marketing list effort, and reviewing leases, credit, and background reports. Candidates must possess knowledge of HUD, HOME, LIHTC, HCD, Fair Housing laws, and relevant California statutes, be detail‑oriented, highly organized, and capable of using technology to improve processes. The ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize deadlines, remain calm under pressure, and deliver excellent internal and external customer service is essential, along with strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required, and experience with YARDI is a plus. • Deliver excellent customer service and clear communication. • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Yardi experience a plus.

Benefits
The position follows a Monday‑Friday schedule from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with a half‑hour meal period, and it is primarily an on‑site role.
