About the Role
• Deliver and coordinate design packages on complex infrastructure programmes. • Lead technical design teams from concept through construction on major highway, bus, and greenway projects. • Provide high‑quality deliverables that meet client expectations, time and budget constraints. • Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams, coordinating inputs from disciplines such as drainage, structures, and environment. • Engage directly with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders to navigate technical challenges and statutory approvals. • Mentor junior engineers and apprentices, contributing to a culture of growth and continuous learning. • Support work‑winning efforts through quality and commercial input.

What You Bring
The role is for a senior or principal civil engineer to join the Belfast high‑ways team, offering a clear pathway toward AECOM certification as a project manager and leadership of national infrastructure projects. • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. • Be a Chartered Engineer or demonstrate clear progression toward chartership. • Possess significant post‑graduate experience in civil engineering, highways, public transport, greenways, and optionally substation infrastructure and high‑voltage cable routes. • Demonstrate strong knowledge of UK and Ireland design standards (e.g., DMRB, DMURS, LTN 1/20, LTN 1/24, NTA Cycle Design Manual). • Experience preparing contract documentation for major transport projects, including NEC and Public Works Contracts. • Familiarity with statutory planning, design approvals, and environmental impact assessments in the UK and/or Ireland. • Ability to manage and lead teams of varying sizes and capabilities. • Experience in commercial management of tasks or projects. • Path to become an accredited NEC Project Manager or Supervisor through external training.
