About the Role
The role is responsible for developing and maintaining the overall SharePoint architecture and roadmap across M365 and SharePoint Server 2019, ensuring alignment with the enterprise IT strategy. It includes advising on migration strategies between on‑premises and cloud environments, including hybrid models, and conducting platform assessments to identify opportunities for modernization, automation, and process improvements. Design and delivery of scalable, secure, high‑performing SharePoint solutions—such as intranets, extranets, document management, and workflow automation—are core duties. The incumbent will evaluate, design, and implement Microsoft CoPilot capabilities to boost user productivity and automate routine tasks, collaborate with stakeholders to identify high‑value use cases, and architect integrations with Azure services, other M365 apps, third‑party tools, legacy systems, and Microsoft Viva modules. The position defines standards and best practices for site collection architecture, information architecture, metadata, and taxonomy, while establishing governance policies for content management, access control, lifecycle management, and retention. Working closely with the security team, the role ensures compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements—including data privacy, GCCH, ITAR, and CUI—and monitors platform performance, availability, and disaster‑recovery strategies. • Lead development of SharePoint architecture and migration roadmaps aligned with enterprise strategy. • Conduct platform assessments to drive modernization and automation. • Design secure, high‑performance SharePoint solutions, including intranets, extranets, and workflow automation. • Implement Microsoft CoPilot features to automate tasks and enhance productivity. • Architect integrations with Azure services, M365 applications, third‑party tools, and Viva modules. • Define standards for site collection, information architecture, metadata, and taxonomy. • Establish governance policies for content lifecycle, access control, and retention. • Ensure compliance with security, privacy, GCCH, ITAR, and CUI regulations. • Monitor platform performance, availability, and disaster‑recovery plans. • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and training to staff and power users. • Create documentation, user guides, and training materials.

What You Bring
Technical leadership is provided through mentorship, training, and the creation of documentation and user guides for IT staff and power users. The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree, have at least five years of experience leading large‑scale IT projects, three years with SharePoint Online, strong micro‑services knowledge, and reside within 50 miles of the location; additional preferred qualifications include advanced degrees, SharePoint Server experience, PowerShell, SPFx, REST API expertise, and the ability to work under pressure with diverse teams. • Minimum 5 years leading global IT projects; 3 + years SharePoint Online experience. • Strong microservices architecture knowledge and proficiency in PowerShell, SPFx, REST APIs. • Bachelor’s degree required; preferred advanced degree in Engineering, CS, or MBA. • Reside within 50 miles of the job location; ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
