About the Role

The Med Tech is responsible for ensuring the timely, safe, and accurate assisting with medications for residents in our assisted living and memory care units. This role works closely with nursing staff and caregivers to maintain a high standard of care, ensuring residents' health and well‑being in accordance with state regulations and community policies. • Assist residents with medications per physician orders and within Florida law scope. • Maintain accurate medication records, including assistance, refusals, and status changes. • Observe residents for side effects, reactions, or behavior changes and report to nursing staff. • Assist residents with ADLs such as grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene. • Monitor and document vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse) as required. • Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of medications per policy and state guidelines. • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members about care concerns. • Follow infection control and safety protocols to maintain a safe environment. • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay compliant with regulations. • Assist in coordinating resident appointments and transportation for off‑site medical visits. • Provide compassionate, patient‑centered care respecting resident dignity and privacy.

What You Bring

Physical requirements include the ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods, as well as the capacity to lift up to 50 pounds when assisting residents. • High school diploma or equivalent. • Current Florida Med Tech certification. • Preferred experience in assisted living or memory care. • Strong communication skills and teamwork ability. • Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and stay calm in a fast‑paced environment. • Basic knowledge of medication assisting procedures, side effects, and interactions. • EMR system proficiency preferred. • CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.
