About the Role
As part of ERM’s dynamic environmental team, the specialist will ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, helping safe and sustainable energy delivery while safeguarding sensitive habitats and species. The position directly contributes to the company’s mission of delivering sustainable solutions and preserving natural resources. The day‑to‑day work includes conducting vegetation assessments and biological surveys, monitoring construction sites for compliance, and providing accurate field data that inform project decisions. The specialist will also liaise with landowners, crews, and contractors to coordinate site access and implement erosion‑control best practices. • Execute field vegetation and biodiversity assessments to protect habitats. • Monitor construction activities for compliance with CEQA, NEPA, and Clean Water Act standards. • Leverage GIS, GPS, and mobile data‑collection applications for precise mapping and reporting. • Coordinate site access and vegetation management with landowners, crews, and contractors. • Draft and submit compliance documentation for state and federal permitting. • Implement erosion‑control and sediment‑management best practices during construction.

What You Bring
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, ecology, or a related discipline, or possess equivalent experience, with up to four years of consulting background. A valid driver’s license, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office, GIS, GPS, and mobile data‑collection tools are required. Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, HAZWOPER or CPR/First Aid certifications, and familiarity with CEQA, NEPA, and Clean Water Act compliance. • Hold a bachelor's degree in environmental science, ecology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). • Bring 0–4 years of experience in biological or environmental consulting. • Maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to travel throughout Northern and Central California. • Preferred certifications include HAZWOPER, CPR/First Aid, and advanced GIS proficiency.
