About the Role
• Develop and maintain detailed cost plans and estimates throughout design and delivery phases. • Produce and present monthly cost reports, executive summaries, and funding data to stakeholders. • Coordinate cost information from design teams, contractors, subcontractors and vendors for validation and auditing. • Compile built cost records for benchmarking and continuous improvement. • Lead procurement strategy, pricing reviews, scope validation and commercial negotiations to secure fair contract prices. • Manage final accounts and ensure timely agreement. • Own change control: review, estimate, negotiate and reconcile change orders, and manage post‑contract cost variances. • Support cost risk analysis, scenario planning, contingency management and commitment tracking. • Implement robust cost control systems, including Earned Value Management where applicable. • Integrate cost with schedule and scope, working closely with project controls and scheduling teams. • Guide engineering priorities based on cost impact and lead value‑engineering and cost‑optimization initiatives. • Monitor market trends such as escalation, labour availability and material pricing, providing timely insights. • Act as primary client interface to meet objectives and deliver service excellence. • Prepare and present executive‑level updates, written comments on contractor submissions and cost estimate revisions. • Ensure adherence to internal Business Management Systems and company delivery methodologies. • Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering a high‑performance, one‑business culture. • Observe SOX control responsibilities where applicable.

What You Bring
Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to serve as the key day‑to‑day client interface on a large‑scale, mission‑critical data centre programme. The role ensures delivery on time, within budget and to the highest standards, emphasizing governance, commercial rigor and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate thrives in client‑facing environments, communicates clearly and can lead both independently and within collaborative teams while embodying Turner & Townsend’s purpose, values and vision. • Demonstrate financial management excellence, including margin tracking and monthly fee/resource forecasts. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or a related field. • 5–7+ years of cost management/project controls experience in mission‑critical environments such as data centres. • Construction consultancy experience strongly preferred. • Strong understanding of MEP systems, resilience requirements and campus‑scale infrastructure for hyperscale data centres. • Expertise in budgeting, financial reporting, cost‑control systems and Earned Value Management. • Experience in procurement strategies and commercial management of contractor/vendor contracts. • RICS accreditation or progress toward certification is advantageous. • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills. • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail. • Proficiency with industry‑standard cost management tools and software. • Availability for on‑site presence as required by the client.
