About the Role

The Director of Operations oversees construction activities across multiple projects, ensuring safety, quality, schedule adherence, and profitability. This senior leader provides both strategic direction and hands‑on guidance to project management and field teams, while collaborating with executive leadership to drive company growth and operational performance. In this role, you will lead and mentor project managers, superintendents, and operations staff, enforce standardized procedures, and work closely with pre‑construction and estimating teams on handoffs and risk reviews. You will monitor project financials, partner with safety, quality, and compliance groups, and support business development through client relationship management and operational input. Continuous improvement of processes, technology adoption, and resolution of escalated issues are also key responsibilities. • Lead construction operations across multiple projects, ensuring contract compliance, schedule adherence, and budget control. • Drive safety, quality, productivity, and cost‑control initiatives. • Mentor project managers, superintendents, and operations staff. • Establish and enforce standardized operating procedures and best practices. • Coordinate project handoffs and risk reviews with pre‑construction and estimating teams. • Monitor financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, and margin management. • Partner with safety, quality, and compliance teams to meet regulatory requirements. • Support business development by fostering client relationships and providing operational input. • Identify and implement process improvements, technology solutions, and operational efficiencies. • Resolve escalated project issues, claims, and disputes. • Participate in strategic planning, staffing, and resource allocation.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or possess equivalent experience, and bring 12–20+ years of progressive construction operations expertise. Proven leadership of multi‑project teams, strong knowledge of construction methods, contracts, scheduling, cost controls, and experience with large‑scale, multi‑market projects are required. The position demands 80–100% travel, primarily office‑based work with occasional site visits, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. • Require 12–20+ years of construction operations experience and a bachelor's degree or equivalent. • Must travel 80–100% of the time, with primarily office‑based work and occasional site visits.
