About the Role
The manager will provide strategic leadership and mentorship to engineers, field professionals, and project managers across multiple infrastructure, commercial, and public works projects. Responsibilities include overseeing foundation and slope analyses, reviewing and approving technical reports, managing the geotechnical laboratory, and directing proposal development, budgeting, and profitability. The role also partners with senior leadership on long‑term strategy, resource planning, market expansion, and supports recruiting, hiring, and professional development to foster a culture of coaching and retention. • Lead and mentor geotechnical engineers, field staff, and project managers across multiple infrastructure projects. • Oversee deep and shallow foundation analysis, slope stability, and ground improvement design using industry-standard software. • Review and approve geotechnical reports, including CPT, borehole, lab testing, and monitoring data. • Manage geotechnical laboratory operations, ensuring quality assurance and timely data delivery. • Direct proposal development, scope definition, budgeting, and department profitability, including collections oversight. • Partner with senior leadership on long‑term strategy, resource planning, and market expansion. • Drive recruitment, hiring, and professional development to foster a culture of coaching and retention. • Maintain and grow client relationships through technical consultation, presentations, and project delivery excellence. • Apply AASHTO, ASTM, TXDOT, and IBC standards in design and reporting (preferred).

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution and an active Texas Professional Engineer license. A minimum of eight years of progressive geotechnical experience, including management of technical teams and client‑facing roles, is required. Preferred qualifications include experience applying AASHTO, ASTM, TXDOT, and IBC standards, expertise with CPT data, settlement and liquefaction analysis, familiarity with software such as GeoStudio, LPILE, Settle3, and gINT, and strong business acumen for financial oversight and client development. • Hold a B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical) from an ABET‑accredited program and an active Texas PE license. • Possess at least 8 years of progressive geotechnical experience with management and client‑facing responsibilities. • Demonstrate expertise in foundations, embankments, slope stability, earth retention, and construction materials testing. • Proficient in CPT interpretation, settlement, liquefaction, and ground improvement analysis (preferred). • Experienced with GeoStudio, LPILE, Settle3, and gINT software (preferred). • Strong business acumen in financial oversight, proposal writing, and client development. • Excellent communication skills for coaching early‑career engineers.
