About the Role

Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclable containers that can exceed 1,000 lb. Depending on the line of business, drivers perform commercial, residential, or roll‑off routes, navigating congested streets, alleys, driveways and lots, and executing skilled backing maneuvers. Key duties include operating the vehicle in compliance with WM safety rules, OSHA and DOT regulations, completing pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, reporting unsafe conditions, and communicating customer requests. Drivers follow assigned routes, dump receptacles, keep sites clean, complete end‑of‑day documentation, and assist teammates as needed. • Operate vehicles following WM safety, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws. • Perform thorough pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR reports. • Report unsafe situations, incidents, accidents, property damage, and service interruptions promptly. • Attend required trainings, briefings, and meetings and collaborate with Operations Manager to improve route efficiency. • Communicate customer requests and ensure receptacles are dumped and sites are left clean. • Follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day documentation, and assist other drivers as needed.

What You Bring

To qualify, applicants must have at least one year of experience operating a CDL‑required vehicle or equivalent military driving within the past seven years, be at least 18 years old, and hold a valid Class A or Class B CDL with an air‑brake endorsement. A high‑school diploma or GED is preferred. The role demands physical activity such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking and hearing, with reasonable accommodations provided for individuals with disabilities.
