About the Role

As a Senior Bridge Engineer you will lead and manage bridge and structure engineering projects through design, assessment, construction and maintenance, ensuring high‑quality deliverables. You will apply cutting‑edge approaches in structural analysis, project control and design solutions while communicating effectively with clients and colleagues. Technical leadership includes mentoring junior team members and providing interdisciplinary review across multi‑discipline projects. • Lead and manage bridge and structure engineering projects from concept through design, assessment, construction and maintenance. • Apply advanced structural analysis, project controls and innovative design solutions. • Communicate technical information effectively through reports, drawings and sketches to clients and colleagues. • Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers and apprentices.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and is Chartered or nearing Chartered status with the ICE or IStructE. You must have strong knowledge of structural Eurocodes, National Highways (DMRB & MCHW) or Network Rail standards, with AASHTO knowledge as a plus. Proven experience in bridge engineering, including drawings, risk assessments, specifications and multidisciplinary coordination, is essential. A growth mindset, passion for innovation and a commitment to mentoring the next generation of engineers are also required. • Hold a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Chartered status (or nearing) with ICE or IStructE preferred. • Possess strong knowledge of Eurocodes, National Highways (DMRB & MCHW) or Network Rail standards; AASHTO knowledge is beneficial. • Demonstrate expertise in bridge engineering, including production of drawings, risk assessments, specifications and multidisciplinary coordination. • Commit to working at least two days per week onsite at the St Albans office.
