About the Role

• Spread concrete to specified depth and workable consistency • Finish concrete surfaces using power trowel or abrasive stone • Remove rough or defective spots using power grinder or chisel and hammer • Patch holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound • Mold expansion joints and edges • Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary • Effectively work and build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels

What You Bring

Mortenson is currently seeking a Cement Mason Apprentice who will learn while assisting journeymen masons in constructing or repairing walls, partitions, and other structures. The role provides hands‑on training and exposure to all facets of the trade. • High school diploma or GED • Previous construction experience preferred • Enrolled in Apprentice Aptitude Program • Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, and detail orientation • Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; knowledge of equipment and basic math skills; active listening and effective communication • Ability to perform repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lb (heavier loads require assistance or equipment)
