About the Role
As an Account Executive on the Complex Security & Fire Sales team, you will help customers create safer, smarter, and more resilient environments. Working under defined direction, you will engage directly with building owners—primarily at the Director level—to deliver Johnson Controls’ industry‑leading service offerings. You will champion the value proposition by pairing technical knowledge with operational insight to provide trusted, high‑impact solutions. You will build consultative partnerships with assigned accounts to deepen penetration of Johnson Controls’ Security and Integrated Systems offerings, maintaining frequent in‑person interaction with key decision‑makers. By listening actively, asking thoughtful questions, and understanding customers’ business realities, you will identify needs, concerns, and opportunities. Collaboration with contractors and consulting engineers will guide project specifications toward Johnson Controls solutions, while you influence specifications and decision‑making within owner accounts. Ongoing communication with leadership about account progress, opportunities, and challenges will help sustain sales momentum. • Build consultative partnerships with assigned accounts to expand security and integrated systems penetration. • Conduct frequent in‑person meetings with directors and key decision‑makers to uncover needs. • Collaborate with contractors and consulting engineers to develop project specifications aligned with Johnson Controls solutions. • Influence owner specifications and guide decision‑making toward Johnson Controls offerings. • Keep leadership updated on account progress, opportunities, and challenges, and enlist support when needed. • Write and tailor specifications and proposals that demonstrate clear customer value. • Qualify new prospects, honor credit‑split guidelines, and refer leads to other business segments when appropriate. • Foster strong internal relationships with operations and administrative teams to ensure seamless support.

What You Bring
The role requires a minimum of five years of progressive, consultative field sales experience in a complex environment, ideally within the Fire, Security, or Building Automation sectors. Candidates must demonstrate strong initiative, outstanding interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to influence senior decision‑makers. A high school diploma with a technical degree or four years of sales experience is required; a bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. • Maintain at least five years of progressive, consultative field sales experience in fire, security, or building automation. • Demonstrate strong initiative, interpersonal communication, and the ability to influence senior decision‑makers. • Possess technical savvy to understand and articulate system capabilities and customer requirements. • Hold a high school diploma with a technical degree or four‑year sales experience; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Benefits
Compensation includes a salary range of $68,600 to $107,000, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and internal equity, along with a competitive Sales Incentive Plan based on volume, margin, and performance. The position also offers a comprehensive benefits package.
