About the Role
The Equipment Commissioning Manager (EqCM) supports the Equipment North America organization on startup, warranty, and service coordination. Reporting initially to the Regional Service Manager and later to the Branch Service Manager, the EqCM acts as the single point of contact for equipment contracts, works with customers, the Customer Resource Coordinator, and internal teams to ensure service scope is met. • Support EqNA sales during project estimate by determining service scope (S/R or Service Mechanical) based on project size, duration, complexity, and management needs. • Provide custom quotes for service items outside PCAT policy. • Verify branch technicians are trained for secured contracts and coordinate training with Truck Based Service Manager. • Attend RTO meetings on complex projects or PSA contracts and flag service/warranty concerns. • Validate PSA details with SAE/Project Owner and supply necessary documentation. • Conduct weekly service turnover meetings with SAEs and Branch Operations Manager to coordinate and monitor service scopes. • Introduce Connected Service capabilities to customers. • Coordinate all scheduled work and schedule changes directly with EqNA customers. • Ensure asset records are created in NxGen and assigned correctly for future service requests/quotes. • Manage delivery logistics with CRC and technicians, communicating updates to SAE and customer. • Verify warranty information in Warranty Navigator and resolve discrepancies with SAE and Warranty Admin. • Monitor Long‑Term Storage requirements and coordinate with SAE and customer. • Promote use of Pronto Forms for pre‑startup checklists, inspections, and warranty work. • Ensure startup is completed, resolve issues, and provide startup documentation to customers. • Record startup dates in NxGen and register equipment in Warranty Navigator; provide warranty certification to customers. • Ensure service requests are invoiced promptly after scope completion. • Act as first point of contact for warranty requests, dispatch technicians, and file claims with CRC and Warranty Service Coordinator. • Escalate and resolve obstacles to warranty work, including parts and resource availability, and collaborate with technical support to accelerate cash collection. • Facilitate technical support for EqNA customers as needed.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate has over ten years of industry experience or a technical engineering/construction degree, strong Microsoft Office skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a proven track record of managing multiple projects. A BA in engineering or construction, HVAC knowledge, and advanced MS Office proficiency are preferred. • 10+ years of industry experience or a technical engineering/construction degree. • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Writer, and Windows OS. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and conflict‑resolution abilities. • Ability to represent Johnson Controls positively across technical levels. • Demonstrated capacity to manage many projects simultaneously with professionalism. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • BA degree in Engineering or Construction (preferred). • HVAC equipment knowledge (preferred). • Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite (preferred).
