Senior Aboriginal Participation Advisor

About the Role

In this role you will lead Aboriginal engagement for a major infrastructure project, building trusted relationships with Traditional Owners, RAPs, and Aboriginal organisations. You will guide cultural protocols, manage cultural heritage requirements, and support Indigenous employment and procurement outcomes. The position reports to the Operational Support Manager and collaborates closely with delivery, environment, land access, procurement, and communications teams. Key accountabilities include leading Aboriginal engagement, guiding cultural protocols, managing cultural heritage obligations and CHMP processes, driving Indigenous employment and procurement, delivering cultural capability training, and providing strategic advice to leaders and project teams. • Lead Aboriginal engagement and build trusted relationships with Traditional Owners, RAPs, and Aboriginal organisations. • Guide and implement cultural protocols and heritage management plans across the project. • Manage cultural heritage obligations, including CHMP processes and compliance. • Drive Indigenous employment and procurement outcomes. • Deliver cultural capability training and advise project leaders and teams. • Contribute to a sustainable infrastructure project while accessing national and global development programs.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person with proven experience in Aboriginal engagement and a solid understanding of cultural heritage legislation.
