About the Role
In this role, you will design, configure, and operate complete building control systems, encompassing fire, security, lighting, nurse call, data networks, and other low‑voltage subsystems, to meet project requirements. You will be accountable to field teams for the quality, timeliness, and efficiency of designs, and develop complex software programs, commissioning plans, and troubleshooting procedures to ensure proper system functionality. Key duties include creating drawings and equipment schedules for submittals, ordering and tracking project materials, coordinating factory‑mounting processes, loading and commissioning system and network‑level controllers, validating system performance, and providing field change information for as‑built documentation. You will also conduct site‑specific training for owners/operators, participate in release meetings, perform value‑engineering to balance cost and customer satisfaction, and uphold safety standards in line with the Zero Harm policy. • Design and configure building control systems, including fire, security, and other low‑voltage subsystems. • Produce drawings, equipment schedules, and submittals for installation teams. • Order, track, and coordinate delivery of materials and factory‑mounted components. • Commission and troubleshoot system and network‑level controllers on site. • Deliver site‑specific training to owners/operators and prepare as‑built documentation. • Perform value‑engineering to achieve cost‑effective solutions while maintaining satisfaction. • Ensure compliance with safety standards and promote a Zero‑Harm culture.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate holds a Mechanical or Electrical engineering degree or equivalent experience, with demonstrated knowledge of the construction or HVAC industry and experience in low‑voltage building systems. Strong communication skills to translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences, advanced computer and drafting tool proficiency, and familiarity with control theory, building automation, and industry communication protocols are required. A BA in Engineering is preferred. • Mechanical or Electrical engineering degree or equivalent experience. • Proven experience with construction/HVAC and low‑voltage building systems. • Ability to convey technical information to non‑technical audiences. • Advanced proficiency with computer drafting tools. • Knowledge of control theory, building automation, and industry protocols.
