About the Role
We are seeking a Survey Technician to support the Party Chief in creating surveys for construction, topographic, right‑of‑way, and control survey tasks. The role involves field data collection, equipment operation, and detailed documentation to support survey projects, ensuring accurate measurements and timely delivery of results. • Measure distances between points using tape, chain, or other surveying tools. • Mark measuring points with paint sticks, tacks, or stakes. • Load and unload survey equipment and prepare it for daily use. • Calculate terrain heights, depths, property lines, and other site characteristics. • Determine latitudes and longitudes using theodolites, transits, levels, and GPS. • Record survey results including shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions. • Adjust and calibrate surveying instruments to maintain accuracy. • Proactively seek additional work and assist teammates after completing assigned tasks. • Maintain punctuality, professionalism, and adhere to project schedules and budgets. • Developing knowledge of layout and survey techniques.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least one year of construction experience with layout or survey responsibilities, be able to read safety rules and blueprints, perform basic arithmetic, possess a developing knowledge of survey techniques, follow directions, and be at least 18 years old. • Hold a level or stadia rod and place stakes at designated elevations for mapmaking and construction surveys. • Clear brush, trees, and other obstructions from the survey line. • Minimum one year of construction experience with layout or survey duties. • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, blueprints, and procedural manuals. • Proficient in basic arithmetic with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. • Must be at least 18 years old and able to follow directions.
