About the Role

The position is accountable for delivering MEP services to agreed time, budget, safety and quality outcomes, providing leadership, governance and assurance while managing technical and construction teams and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. • Lead the MEP team, set clear direction and uphold Mace standards • Deliver MEP services, managing programme, health‑safety, quality and commissioning • Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, trade contractors and project leaders • Oversee tendering and provide technical and commercial support to bid teams • Contribute to procurement strategies and manage specialist packages within scope and budget • Review contracts, budgets, value engineering and support commercial teams throughout the project lifecycle • Develop and implement strategic plans, including prefabrication, commissioning and safety initiatives • Direct design reviews for compliance, coordination, embodied carbon and operational energy • Drive delivery strategies, milestones, logistics and work sequencing; implement commissioning standards • Conduct digital productivity assessments, identify risks and manage project close‑out deliverables • Identify and mitigate risks, capture lessons learned and promote continuous improvement • Manage and negotiate with senior stakeholders up to C‑suite level • Lead large teams, providing performance management, technical coaching and career development • Support net‑zero carbon goals and manage associated emissions • Maintain valid SMSTS and CSCS cards • Apply comprehensive health, safety and welfare expertise

What You Bring

The successful candidate will hold a trade or technical apprenticeship or graduate programme, an HNC/HND/BTEC or equivalent engineering qualification, and valid SMSTS and CSCS cards. Advanced knowledge of engineering systems, construction sequencing, planning, commercial management, health and safety, and quality assurance is required, together with experience on projects exceeding £25 million in MEP value. • Hold a trade/technical apprenticeship or graduate development programme • possess an HNC, HND, BTEC or equivalent engineering qualification • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of MEP engineering systems, design standards and commissioning • Understand construction sequencing, planning and critical‑path management • Exhibit strong commercial management skills, including procurement, change control and forecasting • Have experience delivering projects with £25 million+ MEP value in the construction sector • Show a proven track record of successful project delivery • Excel in stakeholder management, presentation and communication • Possess strong analytical, collaborative and innovative abilities
