About the Role
The Millwright will install, assemble, dismantle, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair machinery at a combined‑cycle power plant, working on equipment such as heat recovery steam generators, gas and steam turbines, large industrial generators, and other related machinery. The Millwright reports to a supervisor, may oversee helpers or laborers on occasion, and must perform physically demanding tasks such as standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lb, and working at heights. The position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions for up to 12‑hour shifts while wearing required personal protective equipment. • Install, assemble, dismantle, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair machinery at a combined‑cycle power plant (HRSG, turbines, generators, etc.). • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, engineering specifications, and technical manuals. • Use industrial hand tools, power tools, precision leveling and alignment instruments. • Work with high‑complex precision machines such as ball mills, ID fans, turbines, generators, pumps, gears, bearings, compressors. • Fit bearings, align gears, attach motors, and install belts per manufacturer drawings. • Dismantle and assemble equipment, bolt, weld, rivet machinery to foundations. • Operate lathes, grinders, fabricate parts, and perform precision machining. • Use rigging and hoisting devices (cranes, hoists, chain falls) to move heavy equipment. • Conduct preventative maintenance including lubrication and repair of worn parts. • Follow supervisor directions and perform other assigned duties.

What You Bring
The role requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, engineering specifications, and technical manuals, as well as proficiency with industrial hand and power tools. Candidates must have at least 4‑5 years of industrial construction/maintenance experience, a minimum of 3 years as a millwright in power generation plants, possess all Journeyman Precision Millwright tools, reliable transportation, and be able to work flexible 7‑day schedules. The position includes a comprehensive list of required tools and is open to qualified candidates who meet NCCER certification preferences and prior Zachry experience. • Minimum 4‑5 years industrial construction/maintenance; at least 3 years millwright experience in power generation. • Possess all Journeyman Precision Millwright tools and reliable transportation; work flexible 7‑day schedule. • Demonstrated experience with hand/power tools, lasers, ultrasonic measuring, welding equipment, and layout tools. • Knowledge of load properties for cables, ropes, hoists, and ability to use certified hand signals. • Strong problem‑solving, organization, time‑management, and communication skills; ability to lead and train helpers. • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 lb, work at heights, and endure extreme weather for up to 12‑hour shifts. • Required personal protective equipment includes hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection, respirator, vest, gloves, steel‑toe boots. • Preferred NCCER Journeyman Industrial Millwright certification; prior Zachry employment and basic computer skills. • Required tool set includes toolbox, tape measure, levels, punches, wrenches, pliers, hammers, screwdriver sets, calipers, micrometers, inspection mirror, etc.
