About the Role
The Laborer/Stacker (General Maker II) is an hourly, non-exempt position in the Hang Business department of Stanley Black & Decker. This role is responsible for placing, hanging, and un-hanging manufactured or purchased component pieces efficiently while adhering to product routings, Bill of Materials, and job set-up charts. The employee must accurately record part numbers and quantities, handle heavy products, and maintain safety standards at all times. In addition to basic production tasks, the Laborer/Stacker performs quality inspections to ensure parts meet tolerance and defect standards, supports equipment reliability through 5S, TPM, and Lean initiatives, and assists with housekeeping and other assignments from the supervisor. The position requires flexibility to work overtime as scheduled. • Place, hang, and un‑hang component pieces efficiently. • Follow product routings, Bill of Materials, and job set‑up charts; record part numbers and counts. • Conduct quality inspections to verify tolerances and detect defects. • Perform equipment upkeep using 5S, TPM, and Lean Manufacturing practices; report unsafe conditions. • Maintain good housekeeping and complete additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor. • Apply good communication skills and knowledge of quality‑control principles.
