About the Role
The superintendent will provide coordination, planning, and supervision of assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities within a defined discipline. Responsibilities include developing and enhancing customer relationships through excellent service. Core duties involve planning concrete material delivery, reviewing construction documents, navigating 3‑D models, and creating site logistics and schedule look‑ahead plans. The role also requires managing tools and equipment, leading on‑site orientations, supervising crews, and ensuring safety, quality, risk, and compliance. • Plan and implement concrete material delivery, equipment usage, and inspections to meet schedule. • Review construction documents for completeness, constructability, and contract compliance. • Coordinate with design engineers and resolve plan/spec discrepancies. • Develop and manage project schedules, including three- and six‑week look‑ahead plans. • Create site logistics plans and manage Mortenson tools/equipment utilization. • Lead on‑site orientations, pre‑construction planning sessions, and regular site meetings. • Supervise partner superintendents, craft foremen, and crews; mentor and evaluate assistants. • Interview, hire, transfer, or terminate craft team members and ensure proper time‑card coding. • Track work progress, craft productivity, and enforce safety, quality, risk, and compliance. • Identify and implement process improvements and mitigate unfavorable conditions.

What You Bring
Mortenson is seeking an experienced Concrete Superintendent for its Power Delivery Group. The role demands interaction with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment, requiring flexibility, resourcefulness, professionalism, and confidentiality. The superintendent must anticipate problems, identify opportunities, and devise viable solutions. Candidates must hold an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction‑related fields or possess ten years of trade experience, with at least ten years in construction and five years as a Concrete Foreman, preferably in the energy sector. Experience directing large crews, knowledge of forming systems, pour sizing, labor tracking, and basic construction law, along with intermediate Microsoft Office skills and a valid driver’s license, are required. • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction‑related field or 10 years trade experience. • Minimum 10 years construction experience, including 5 years as Concrete Foreman in energy sector. • Experience directing large concrete crews (50+ workers) on energy infrastructure projects. • Knowledge of forming systems, pour sizing, labor tracking, and basic construction law. • Proficient with Microsoft Office and able to interpret Mortenson policies. • Valid driver’s license and ability to work in U.S. without visa sponsorship.
