About the Role

The Safety Specialist 2 will coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine and increasingly complex construction projects, conducting safety inspections, documenting hazardous‑condition abatement, writing reports, and performing trend analysis in support of JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values. Autonomy & Decision‑Making: follows directions and refers all exceptions to the supervisor. Career Path: Senior Safety Specialist. • Conduct walk‑through safety inspections to ensure compliance with laws and company policies. • Perform safety audits, document hazards, and recommend corrective actions using internal safety management systems. • Lead new‑hire safety orientation and enforce drug‑ and alcohol‑policy compliance. • Monitor safety programs of prime contractors and subcontractors. • Participate in project pre‑planning and progress meetings to discuss safety matters. • Support field leadership with safety meetings, committees, and chair the project safety committee. • Assist in accident investigations and propose process changes to prevent recurrence. • Coordinate injured employee treatment and compile injury progress reports. • Oversee site safety incentive program. • Identify complex safety issues and develop advanced abatement solutions. • Provide project‑specific safety recommendations based on deep knowledge of equipment, regulations, and work processes. • Perform safety trend analysis and recommend solutions to mitigate future issues. • Deliver guidance and training on basic to intermediate safety topics for team members. • Support safety leadership during insurance audits. • Oversee large or multiple complex projects. • Know and enforce federal, state, local, and company safety regulations. • Recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures. • Build collaborative relationships with internal and external team members.

What You Bring

• Accurately and timely perform work with strong verbal and written communication skills. • Proficient in MS Office and intermediate safety software/tools. • Bachelor’s degree in safety/health (preferred) or equivalent experience. • Minimum of 2+ years construction safety experience.
