About the Role
The technician works in a team‑oriented, safety‑conscious environment, performing repairs and preventive maintenance on tanks, vessels, piping, and structural systems, as well as laying out, fabricating, and installing new and replacement piping and valve assemblies. Tasks are performed with moderate supervision and include documenting work order feedback and helping develop maintenance standards. • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on tanks, vessels, piping, and structural systems. • Layout, fabricate, and install new and replacement piping systems and valve assemblies. • Read and interpret blueprints, isometric diagrams, and engineering drawings; certify to B31.1 and 6‑G standards. • Execute various welding techniques (electric, gas, arc) in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. • Conduct weld inspections and tests such as hydrostatic, X‑ray, and dimensional tolerance checks. • Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometer) to verify gaps, angles, and tolerances. • Follow all safety procedures, including PJHA processes, observations, and fall protection requirements. • Maintain personal tool inventory and complete accurate timekeeping and work order documentation. • Meet physical demands such as lifting up to 50 lb, climbing ladders or scaffolding, and wearing a respirator when needed.

What You Bring
Required knowledge includes blueprint and isometric diagram reading, certification to B31.1 Pipe Welding Code and 6‑G in stainless steel, and proficiency with measuring tools such as straightedges, calipers, and micrometers. The technician must be capable of tack‑welding, full welding, cutting, grinding, and lead installation using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment. All work must comply with company and site safety guidelines, including PJHA processes, observation protocols, and use of fall protection when working from ladders, platforms, or scaffolding. The role demands physical capabilities such as lifting up to 50 lb, climbing stairs or ladders, and wearing a respirator when required. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED; an AA in welding is preferred but not required. They should possess 0‑2+ years of industrial pipe fitting, welding, and repair experience, along with the necessary certifications, and may benefit from additional education in industrial maintenance technologies. The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes, toxic chemicals, electrical hazards, vibration, and loud noise. Employees may also encounter extreme temperatures, wet conditions, and occasionally extreme heat or cold.

Benefits
The Welding Pipefitting Technician role is based in Blair, Nebraska, offering an hourly wage of $20‑$37.78 for four 10‑hour days, Monday‑Thursday or Tuesday‑Friday, from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Employees receive weekly pay on Fridays, comprehensive benefits beginning on the first day, safety apparel, uniforms, and opportunities for training and advancement. Compensation ranges from $32.11 to $37.78 per hour, with pay determined by location, experience, collective bargaining status, and other factors, but will never fall below minimum wage.
