About the Role

In this role you will conduct high‑voltage substation works with a strong focus on safety and technical ability, working positively as part of a team to complete tasks efficiently. Key duties include testing, commissioning and maintaining substation protection systems, understanding protection scheme philosophy, operating Omicron or equivalent test equipment, compiling test reports and as‑built documentation, and consulting manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams and engineering personnel to effectively commission protection schemes. You will also support the team in compliance, SHEQ and technical knowledge. • Conduct testing, commissioning, and maintenance of high‑voltage substation protection systems. • Interpret manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams and collaborate with engineers to commission protection schemes. • Use Omicron or equivalent equipment to test protection schemes and produce detailed test reports. • Support team compliance with SHEQ standards and share technical knowledge.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate has a minimum of three years’ industry experience with power assets, holds registration (full, provisional or limited) from the Electrical Workers Registration Board as an electrician or electrical engineer (preferably a current practising licence), and possesses practical experience in HV, substation or power transmission environments. Strong communication skills, good computer literacy and a valid driver’s licence are also required. • Minimum three years’ experience with power assets and hold EWRB registration (full, provisional or limited). • Demonstrate strong communication, computer literacy and hold a valid driver’s licence.
