About the Role

The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor leads a maintenance shop under the Maintenance Manager, overseeing a team of technicians who perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet of trucks, containers, and heavy‑duty equipment. The role ensures all work complies with company safety standards and federal and state regulations while planning and scheduling repairs to minimize lost productivity. In this position the supervisor directs A, B and C level technicians, monitors operational performance, and reports on results while recommending process improvements. Responsibilities include daily shop huddles, fleet walks, coaching, hiring and termination decisions in partnership with HR, performance evaluations, and conducting quality‑control inspections of both in‑house and outside repairs. The supervisor also oversees complex diagnostics, road‑tests vehicles when needed, manages inventory levels and purchase budgets, and approves expenses within authority. Maintaining advanced knowledge of engine, emission, transmission, brake, hydraulic, electrical, HVAC, and welding systems is required to execute timely and safe repairs. • Provide direction to A, B, and C level technicians and lead the work group. • Monitor and improve operational performance, reporting to management. • Conduct daily shop huddles, fleet walks, and quality‑control inspections. • Coach, counsel, and train technicians; handle hiring, termination, and performance evaluations. • Schedule and oversee preventive maintenance and repairs to meet safety and regulatory standards. • Perform complex diagnostics, road‑test vehicles, and guide repair decisions. • Manage shop inventory, control part levels, and ensure purchases stay within budget. • Approve expenses within authority and forward larger costs to management. • Maintain advanced knowledge of engine, emission, transmission, brake, hydraulic, electrical, HVAC, and welding systems. • Administer payroll, employee records, maintenance logs, and budget preparation.

What You Bring

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, ASE certifications (T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, T2, Master Certified), at least three years of heavy‑equipment maintenance experience and one year of supervisory experience, with a solid understanding of DOT, OSHA, and other safety regulations.
