About the Role
The Equipment Operator will operate construction equipment such as skid steers, bobcats, forklifts, dozers, backhoes, and loaders to support solar installation projects. The role demands strict adherence to safety procedures, diligent equipment and site maintenance, and clear communication with spotters and team members to ensure safe and efficient operations. • Uphold safety as a core value and follow the corporate safety program. • Operate equipment for grading, excavation, backfilling, and other solar‑related tasks under supervision. • Assist in utility spotting to avoid damaging existing utilities, cables, and culverts. • Maneuver equipment safely around installed solar components, maintaining clearances. • Maintain and manage spoil piles in compliance with OSHA standards. • Communicate clearly with spotters and team members during operations. • Use hand tools (shovels, rakes, hammers, drills, etc.) as needed for site tasks. • Report equipment issues to the foreman promptly. • Receive, store, and protect project materials and report shortages or damage. • Coordinate hand‑and‑foot movements to guide machinery in tight locations. • Collaborate with foremen and crew to complete installations from start to finish. • Assist with daily reporting and documentation for the foreman. • Help resolve weather‑related or emergency delays in coordination with the foreman. • Ensure equipment check sheets are accurate and up to date. • Provide cross‑departmental support and handle special assignments as directed. • Maintain a professional demeanor and promote professionalism among all personnel. • Develop coordinated movement skills and a working knowledge of equipment.

What You Bring
Successful candidates will collaborate closely with foremen and crew, assist with material handling, maintain accurate daily reports, and be prepared to work extended hours and travel to various job sites. A high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and a willingness to learn and develop equipment‑operating skills are required. • Possess a high school diploma or GED and a clean driver’s license. • Have 0‑2 years of experience operating heavy equipment or similar machinery. • Willingness to undergo OSHA training and certifications. • Flexibility to work long/extended hours, including weekends, and travel to job sites. • Demonstrate teamwork, adaptability, and the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
