About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Bicycle & Pedestrian Route Design Engineer/Planner to lead multimodal transportation projects across Texas and the Southwest Gulf Coast. The role will support the expansion of our bike and pedestrian portfolio, building on recent successes such as the Lakeshore Drive project in New Orleans and Ave B in San Antonio. The position combines project management, technical leadership, mentorship, and client‑facing responsibilities. • Serve as Lead Technical Professional (LTP) and, when required, Engineer of Record (EOR) for multimodal bicycle and pedestrian planning and conceptual design projects. • Lead designers, planners, and technicians, providing frequent peer reviews of their work. • Direct technical writing and develop reports and proposals for projects. • Lead marketing efforts for smaller projects and support marketing on larger, complex projects. • Participate in training sessions and conferences to stay current with industry developments.

What You Bring

• Hold a BA/BS degree and at least 6 years of relevant experience, or equivalent education/experience. • Possess Texas PE or AICP certification. • Have a BS in Civil Engineering or a BA/BS in City Planning/Urban Planning and Design (preferred). • Bring 7 + years focused on bike and pedestrian systems, with a portfolio of multiple project deliveries. • Demonstrate experience on at least six active transportation projects and proficiency with design decisions, costs, and standards for bike/pedestrian facilities. • Experience both system/network planning and specific facility design such as bike lanes, cycle tracks, MUPs, greenways, and sidewalks. • Familiarity with third‑party data sources used in network planning.
