About the Role

The Cost Consultant role focuses on cost and commercial management for MEP‑related projects, providing full‑cycle cost management services from feasibility studies through to final accounts. The successful candidate will act as a key interface with clients, stakeholders and consultants, and will support procurement, contract administration and value‑management activities across the project lifecycle. • Conduct feasibility studies and advise on procurement strategies, contracts and value‑management at project outset. • Manage estimating and cost planning, own and present the final cost plan. • Negotiate and agree final accounts. • Serve as key interface with clients, stakeholders and consultants throughout all project stages. • Administer contractual frameworks and standard forms of contract. • Identify and implement improvements to cost‑management procedures, templates and client services. • Identify and improve internal systems and processes. • Provide Capex vs Opex cost analysis and advice.

What You Bring

• Demonstrate previous cost‑consultancy experience in a similar role (preferred, not essential). • Possess strong knowledge of MEP and sustainable technologies across multiple sectors. • Experience with JCT/NEC contracts. • Proven cost planning, budgeting and estimating capabilities. • Ability to advise on contract administration. • Knowledge of value engineering and life‑cycle costing. • Understanding of industry best practice, sustainability, social value and carbon‑reduction issues. • Hold a degree in quantity surveying, cost management, engineering or equivalent. • Professional membership such as MRICS/RICS (preferred).
