About the Role
The Lead Engineer will be accountable for the design, development and continuous improvement of machines in the Ecotec Trommel Group, assuming total product ownership. This position works closely with the Engineering Manager, Sales, Service, Marketing and Operations teams to embed the ‘Voice of the Customer’ into new product specifications and modifications, while ensuring compliance with engineering standards and cost‑effective solutions. • Collaborate with engineering, sales, service, marketing and operations to integrate customer feedback into product designs. • Own the Ecotec Trommel product group, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and specifications. • Identify cost‑effective design alternatives and drive improvements to existing machines. • Provide support to dealer networks to maintain customer satisfaction. • Apply measurable standards for product safety, reliability and serviceability. • Mentor and coach engineering staff, promoting component and sub‑assembly standardisation across product lines. • Lead the design, development and market launch of mobile equipment using 3D CAD (Pro‑Engineer) and PDM systems. • Drive Lean manufacturing practices and foster a collaborative team environment. • Manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously while meeting delivery commitments. • Remain flexible to travel and work variable hours on short notice.

What You Bring
The role requires a degree‑level engineering education or equivalent experience, proven leadership in strategic and tactical decision‑making, and a strong track record of designing, developing and launching mobile equipment. Candidates must be proficient in 3D solid‑modeling CAD (ideally Pro‑Engineer), familiar with Product Data Management systems, and possess solid mechanical and hydraulic expertise. Key personal attributes include excellent written and verbal English communication, strong project‑management and presentation skills, and the ability to mentor and develop engineering talent. The successful candidate will champion Lean manufacturing practices, drive component standardisation across product groups, and demonstrate flexibility to travel and work variable hours as needed. • Demonstrate expertise in mechanical and hydraulic systems and understand application performance requirements. • Exhibit strong leadership, project‑management, communication and presentation skills.
